Prior to the Meditation: Candles may be lit as a symbol of the Light you are creating and connecting with.
Drink a full glass of water before the meditation starts to ensure the flow of the electrical energies throughout the body. The water acts as an electrical conduit for these energies.
Chocolate is very grounding. After the meditation, you might consider eating some kind of chocolate so as to ground the high spiritual energies which will have been generated during the meditation.
This meditation is seven minutes, again with space left at the end for you to sit with your experience and slowly come back to yourself. Again, journal your results, thoughts, interpretations, etc. afterward.
Earth Healing Ritual You should allow for an hour to an hour and a half for the following ritual. Thirty minutes for preparation are useful if most of the participants don’t know each other. Also about 30 to 60 minutes for sharing experiences and calming down afterwards is useful. No special place is needed for this ritual.
If possible, every participant should bring a drum or a rattle and one to three healing stones (directly from nature or purchased) to the ritual. It is not necessary that every participant take responsibility for the ritual work at a chosen power spot after the Earth Healing Ritual. To create a loving atmosphere in the group and to build up a positive resonance between the participants it is useful to chant mantras or spiritual power songs together.
Examples: * Hey loa, key loa, manho lo.
* mana tane kala namaha, mana tane kala na
Also a dance can be held. If you choose to do so, a part of the group should play drums and the dancers can use rattles. This will help to raise the spiritual energies and to open up for healing and inspiration. The participants should sit in a circle as this will concentrate the spiritual energies and help to relate to Mother Earth. The stones should be placed in the middle of the circle. Sometimes it can be helpful to do a smudge cleaning for every participant and also for the room or area in which the Earth Healing Ritual takes place.
One person from the group needs to be chosen to lead the ritual. He or she needs to know all the instructions given in this text. If possible, he or she should also have some experience in doing rituals. But this is not obligatory as long as they stick to the instructions given. The leader must lay down one or more stones in the center of the circle.
Calling in of the Spirits
All participants should stand in a circle holding hands. Everyone should ask their personal angel, power animal or deity to provide help, to send spiritual healing energies and to protect the group against influences that are not positive for the Earth Healing Ritual.
The leader should now ask aloud that the Spiritual Energies and Beings from Heaven and Earth, and all other Spiritual beings who would like to take part in the Earth healing Ritual, come to the circle and spread around their energies of light and love, helping to fulfill the aim of the Ritual. The Divine beings should be asked for protection, help and guidance. Then the process and meaning of the Earth Healing Ritual should be explained again. All people should bear in mind their wishes for healing the Earth and the Human race. During the invitation of the Divine Beings, drums and rattles can be played but not too loud.
Empowering the Stones
The participants should sit down now and sing a mantra or power song. Also, rattles and drums should be played. Small groups of a maximum of four people should then get up and go to the stones in the center and direct their palms towards them. Then, everyone should pray and ask for at least three positive wishes to be fulfilled: One for the planet Earth, one for the healing of the Human race and one wish for a personal healing.
Each time a group returns to the circle, a new group should walk to the stones in the center. When everyone has made their wishes, the leader will ask the Divine Beings to fulfill the wishes in the most positive way for everyone.
Taking the Stones and uniting in the Spiral of Mother Earth
The participants should now sit down and sing a mantra or a power song. Also, rattles and drums should be played. Small groups of a maximum of four people should then go to the stones in the center, and pick up their stones. Each time a group returns to the circle, a new group should walk to the center and pick up their stones. All stones should be collected with the exclusion of the stone or stones of the leader.
Now everyone should hold hands and sing the mantra OM. The leader should then let go of the hand of his or her neighbor on the left, while keeping hold of the hand of the neighbor to the right. The leader will then walk around, following the inside of the circle. The people to his or her right will follow on. While moving in a spiral form, towards the stones left in the middle, every participant should take the opportunity to exchange a smile with the ones who are passing by. All the time, the mantra OM should continue to be sung.
When the leader has reached the stones in the middle, he or she should lift their left arm to the sky, visulaizing the Spiritual Energies from Mother Earth adn father Heaven flowing through the arm and the legs, inside of their body, and then spreading through the whole group and the stones.
All the other participants continue moving along the spiral path until they stand very close together. Go on singing out loud the mantra OM for some time and open up to the Divine healing energies. Then, unfold the spiral, by walking back in the same way you came, until all participants are standing in the circle again. Stop singing the mantra OM, and in the silence feel the energies for a while.
Giving Thanks to the Spirit and saying Good-bye
The leader should collect his or her won stones from the center, giving thanks to all the Spiritual beings who ahve taken part in the earth healing ritual and say “Good-bye” to them. Then, all participants should give thanks, and say “Good-bye”, to the Spiritual beings. If you like you can sing another mantra or power song.
Now the first part of the Earth Healing Ritual is finished. Most groups like to spend about half an hour or more enjoying the energy, calming down and talking about their experiences. It is also possible to have a feast afterwards. Working with the Earth healing Ritual at a chosen Power Spot
All those who have taken one or more stones during the Earth Healing Ritual should take them to natural power spots. A natural power spot can be an old tree, a spring, a rock, a special place on the ebach, a river or a lake. Every place is right as long as spiritual energies are strong there. If you need further information about power spots please read the chapter about this topic in my book “Rainbow Reiki”.
The Spiritual Guide who takes care for the power spot should be addressed in prayer, the meaning of the Earth Healing Ritual should be explained and the Spirit should be asked for protection, help and guidance. The stones should then be buried in the ground. A small offering of honey, tobacco or an incense stick should be made. Please be careful with fire if the place is dry!
Pray for the fulfillment of the wishes being made during the Earth Healing Ritual. Repeat the offering at the power spot every full moon, 13 times – this is a moon year. If you are not able to be at the power spot personally, take a small stone from the power spot to create a resonance to it when you are distant, and then you can make the offering at the appropriate time and direct the prayer to the power spot from a distance. But, if possible, do this small but necessary ritual, directly at the power spot.
If you like, you can also celebrate this ritual at the Power Spot together with friends.
From time to time you should care for the power spot, cleaning it and throwing away waste and rubbish.
Earth Healing Crystal Grid
Crystal grids are similar to mandalas; they are simply an arrangement of stones in a pattern for the specific purpose of directing energy toward a goal. The variety of combinations is limited only by your imagination. For this particular grid, however, we will use a pattern designed to honor the elements and send healing energy to the Earth.
This ritual can be performed at any time. It can be done alone or with a group. For a group working, each person can recite a part of the ritual and place a stone into the grid.
You will need one quartz cluster of any kind for the center of the grid to symbolize the Spirit. Clear quartz is the ideal choice, but you can also use amethyst. Depending on your collection of stones and crystals, you may have a different stone in mind. Use your intuition to select a stone that best represents the Spirit to you.
Select four large stones to represent each of the four elements. You may want to choose these stones by color or association. These can be mineral specimens or rocks you have collected. For example, geodes or stones worn by a river are good choices to represent Water. Amethyst is also often associated with the Water element. Red, orange, or metallic stones are good for Fire, or volcanic glass such as obsidian. Brown or green colored stones, especially agates, are good choices for the Earth element, or a stone that you have collected from your backyard, something native to your area that represents the land. Yellow or clear stones are good choices for Air.
You will also need four quartz points of any size and the following eight connecting stones: Tourmalinated Quartz, Rhodocrosite, Gypsm, Chrysocolla, a Geode, a piece of Petrified Wood or a fossil, Lepidolite, and Smoky Quartz.
These are fairly common stones among mineral collectors and can be obtained for minimal cost from rock and gem shops. If you have difficulty finding any of these, feel free to use clear quartz as a replacement.
Create you sacred space in your own way. Set the mood for your ritual by playing a recording of nature sounds, or perform the ritual outdoors if possible. Turn on a fountain if you have one—the sound of running water can also enhance the mood. Again use your intuition and personal preference here.
The four large stones you have selected to represent the four elements will be placed first. As you call each quarter, place the stone in the appropriate direction. Depending on your position, your grid will either be in the shape of a diamond or a square. Be sure you leave room in between for the connecting stones. You may also, if you prefer download this healing grid (right click the image and select ‘save as’ or ‘download’.
To invoke Spirit/Deity, place the quartz cluster in the center, and say the following:
“The purpose of this ritual is to send healing energy to the Earth. This crystal represents the Spirit, the energy of all things—all things are connected. I empower this crystal with Earth-healing energy. May it flow forth and spread over the world to bring healing, harmony, peace and respect for all life.”
Next, use the following visualization—you can do this internally if you’re alone, or read it aloud to a group:
“Imagine the Earth flourishing and under our care instead of domination. Pure, clean waters and air, pollutants neutralized and safe, waste being recycled, energy being saved, animals and habitats protected, humans caring about their environment and being responsible for their actions. I (we) will build this grid to hold my (our) energy, and then release it.”
Next, each of the eight connecting stones will be added to the grid, stating the purpose of each as it’s put into place. Place each one next to an elemental marker stone. The end result will be four connected lines in the shape of a diamond or square. Between each elemental marker there will be a total of three stones—two connecting stones and one quartz point between each of them, to be placed last. Tourmalinated Quartz: “To create a solving atmosphere for positive change.” Rhodocrosite: “For Earth-healing, love and balance.” Gypsm: “To end stagnation and promote progressive thinking.” Chrysocolla: “To help all beings become attuned with the Earth.” Geode: “To represent the Earth Mother and help us see the ‘big picture.’” Petrified Wood: “For protection from environmental pollutants, to promote energy and enjoyment of life, strength, transformation—to change what we can—and for grounding, connection with the Earth.” Lepidolite: “To facilitate harmony and a peaceful environment.” Smoky Quartz: “For protection, especially for all creatures and natural resources.”
Finally, complete the grid with the remaining four quartz points to direct the energy outward. Place them with the points facing away from the grid. Chant the following words as each crystal is put into place:
Elements and Spirit praised,
healing energy be raised,
send it to our Mother Earth,
land that gives us life and birth.
Proceed with grounding in the manner of your choice, and close your circle with the following words, or some variation:
“Elementals and Deities, we thank you for your presence here, depart with our love and gratitude. The circle is open but unbroken; may this energy for Earth-healing grow as it spreads across the land. Merry Meet, Merry Part, and Merry Meet Again. Blessed Be.”
If possible, leave the grid in place for a few days or until you feel it has completed its work. It may be useful to build it on a piece of cardboard so you can simply move the cardboard to another location where the grid will not be disturbed. If you need to disassemble the grid right away, visualize any remaining healing energy within the grid being dispersed to the Earth.
